About Me:
I am a fully qualified registered nurse who has working within the NHS and Education sector for over 25 years. I began my career working as a health care assistant and after completing my nurse training I worked within cardiology. During this time is was also a member of the Territorial Army and worked within the Queens Alexander Royal Army Medical Corps supporting and teaching nursing skills within the Army. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching and began to teach nursing students within University, during this time I specialised in simulation. Simulation is a teaching technique that uses mannequins and role play to teach a wide range of nursing skills within a skills lab. I was responsible for setting up skills labs within two Universities and embedded this practice within the nursing curriculum. I was fortunate enough to travel the world presenting my research on simulation and the positive effects it has on health care education. I was nominated for best lecturer and most innovative lecturer for 2 consecutive years 2015 & 2016 and have published my work. I am also a project manager and worked with the NHS to look at how things can be improved ensuring patients have access to the best care. After a fulfilling and dynamic career involving the NHS and Education, I am now working Independently to support my local community providing bespoke nursing care. I am passionate about working with people, offering care that does not have to cost the earth
