Details:
Private household (not an agency). Female is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, Sch. 9(2)) due to personal care.
£789/week (live-in rota) OR £112.50/day (paid end of shift) — self-employed.
About me: I’m in my early 40s, live in Guildford with my husband Mark (primary carer). You’ll be the second member of our small care team. I use an electric wheelchair and communicate via iPad/iPhone (AAC) and non-verbal cues. Night-owl routine (bed 12–2am). Health info is for awareness only (cerebral palsy, epilepsy, acid reflux) — this is a non-clinical role.
Role:
• Safe moving & handling incl. hoist for all transfers
• Personal care (washing, dressing, continence) with dignity
• Light housework (laundry, tidy & reset) + dishwashing
• Driving me (and sometimes Mark) in my automatic Motability car for shops/errands/appointments/outings
• Follow clear instructions from Mark; no written recording
Boundaries:
• NO medication administration or medical tasks — Mark handles all medical issues/meds
• Prepaid energy: check before using hoover/washing machine/hob/kettle/oven/microwave; switch lights off
• Quiet while I’m sleeping; if you leave the premises, text me immediately
Must-haves: DBS on Update Service; full, clean UK licence (automatic); Moving & Handling with hoist competence; fluent English; self-employed; right to work in the UK.
