Food they like: Homemade mashed potato; cheese omelette. English home cooking would be a plus - although dad is happy with ready meals from the supermarket.
Music: Opera and classical music.
Other Interests: Full care plan with all these details to be provided to those who make it to interview. In summary: gardening, Chelsea Football Club, most sport, snooker, gardening.
Details:
I am looking for a truly compassionate carer to help me look after my 96 year old dad who is mentally and physically frail but does not have dementia.
I need someone who has a genuine wish to get to know my dad and look after his emotional well-being just as carefully and thoughtfully as his physical needs.
My dad is hard of hearing and has poor eyesight. It is therefore absolutely paramount that his carer is very clearly spoken and understands the skills required to communicate effectively with an educated and dignified gentleman in their twilight years.
I live with my dad together with my miniature Pomeranian.
I am looking for someone who can provide:
2 hours help every morning to assist dad with washing, shaving, dressing and preparing his breakfast;
3-4 hours help every evening to prepare dad’s evening meal, encourage him to eat and support him getting ready for bed when he is ready - usually around 7.30pm.
This position is not live-in. However, I am happy to transport the right carer to and from dad’s home.
