About Me:
I am a fit, active 64 year old woman who took early retirement from my Workforce Development Manager for a local authority Social Services department 8 years ago. I returned to teaching, and then emigrated to my house in France. I completed a live in care training course (and had my DBS check done) in February 2020, and then Covid 19 hit travel. I'm a patient and understanding woman with a zest for life. I enjoy pottery, cooking, walking, reading, word games, writing and keeping in touch with my grandchildren in the UK. I cared for my 92 year old Mum for several years before her Alzheimers progressed too far, and she went into care.

I was also companion to a 90 year old gentleman for six weeks, whilst house and dog sitting in Bakewell, Derbyshire.

Interests
Food: I enjoy the Mediterranean style of food. Huge salads, risottos, tomatoes, pasta, and a good fillet. I enjoy making soups and casseroles.
Music: I grew up with Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Leonard Cohen, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and love the music of that era.
I also enjoy piano concertos, and brass band music.
TV: Love documentaries, and travelogues.

Books: I read voraciously, but cannot ever choose favourites. Recent ones I've enjoyed are Where the Crawdads Sing, Daughter, Wall of Silence
Days Out: I live in the Loire Valley so chateaux are my thing.
My favourite place is Fontevraud L'Abbaye where Alienor d'Aquitane and husband King Henry of France and England are buried, alongside their son Richard the Lionheart
